NOS

Am i right in assuming that when you run NOS you get a massive but short term increase in BHP, until the NOS has run out? This cant be good for a little engine that is designed to put out 150 - 200 BHP, or am i wrong?

If this is so, isnt it possible to get NOS fitted so that you get a safe but small and more managable increase of say 10- 15 BHP?

I think the smallest jets you can get are +25bhp ones - not an immense increase on standard, but I suppose youd have to work out how near its limits the engine is in its current state of tune.

Personally, I think NOS is a bit pants - I want the power ready and waiting all the time, not there when Im playing and then not when I need it...

Nitrous is good stuff but can work out expensive if youre using it a lot. A standard F7 engine will take 50 jets no trouble at all as long as youve plumbed in the extra fuel as well.

Remember you are only using NOS while the system is switched on, and you are accellerating with your foot to the floor (WOT=Wide Open Throttle). Once you ease off accellerating the NOS will shut off.

10-15 with NOS would be a complete waste of time. Get all of the other standard mods done to get your 10-15 increase, then add NOS for that 50hp increase when you really need it.

With a progresive controller, your F7 could probably take 300-350bhp (not for too long though). Best to stick with a 50-75hp jet.

And stop being a wuss about it!
