if they are stuck on, in the past all I have done is pull them off, best to buy the proper licence plate stickers (thinner size) from Halfords.

i used a hairdryer to heat the old sticky pads up and pulled the old plates off, then used white spirit to get rid of all the sticky residue.
the new plates were stuck on by the same sticky pads that came with the new plates, or you can get the same things from halfords.

I had a right job getting my old plates off the dealer had used 6 sticky strips per plate. Ended up stood there with a hair dryer which softened them enought to peel them off. You can then just roll off the excess with your finger.

The Halfords sticky strip are pretty good, just use three per plate and they are solid.

If your car is anything like mine the original plates put on by the dealer will be riveted on with 2 rivets.

I had to drill mine out and then put the new ones on with body trim tape.

Cheers

you could use body trim tape etc yeah

just fitted my new ones and used large velcro, basically the velcro covers the whole of the back of the plate and they are solid, you can also change them for shows etc.

speak to a local cobblers
