Orignal air box fitting help needed

Hi Peeps

I have just bought a 172 on a 02 plate and have been trying to find the original air box for it as sum donkey has put sum gash on it.

Does anyone have any picks of the fitting guide or can tell me where the little pipe from the top pipe goes 2? it looks like it goes round the back of the engine??

the little pipe is the breather pipe, if you look to the back of the engine it should be covered with an aftermarket filter if its been modified, otherwise it would just be open to everything. you just push the pipe on to it, easy as that (after taking off the aftermarket one)

LOL - no problem mate, I guess everyone has their own preference. The standard airbox does a great job!

The non orginal one does sound lovely when you are giving the old girl sum, but very lumpey when on idle. Have been informed it the air fillter cus the tubes are all coming off and no return pipes to the engine etc etc

Ah, that may help the idle, will say now that they all have a little idle lumpyness, its their character, i thought it was dodgy at first but its quite normal...I guess the filter could help a little - just dont get so much of a grunt when pushing it lol.

I will miss the nice sound, but feel the engine will be better for havin rhe old filter back on.

Then I just need to take the loud power flow exhaust off, and get one made by longlife thats alittle more subtle

Subtle is always nice, especially when travelling on the motorway lol!

Longlife are fab, I took my old car to them and had a cat-back stainless made, was real chuffed with it, exhaust is fine at the mo on this one so wont replace unless needed

I had an old mark 1 clio 172 and they did a cat back on that it was lovely, so will use them again.

I just need sum wheels now black on black aint for me. Any suggestions?

well i took a pic of my car made it small and uploaded it in the profile area on the forum, but as the mod states, u gotta pay for membership, def worth the money, you get a goodie pack too!

black on black, little to black then lol.

erm i like white, will def stand out but that to be a little too OTT lol. Shade of grey?

if you take a look on the subscription page i think it tells you, they have changed i think, i got a bottle opener, some stickers and a tax disc holder with some flyers etc, its a great forum to be a part of!

Good choice on wheels, i like the sound of that glad we were on the same wavelength with the white
