paint correction

if a cars been into bodyshop an had dents pulled an large areas filled & resprayed would this effect the level of correction or amount of times that can be corrected

  BMW E46 330i Touring
Not an expert but I would say that the dents being pulled out make no difference (although the panel may be a bit weaker and susceptible to pressure?) but areas that have been resprayed are normally thicker than original paint...

  PH1 iceburg
If you know a detailler they will have a paint wizard/doctor (something like that) which measures the depth of paint on each panel

It will only affect the level of correction if it's not been done very well, i.e. flatted down properly.

It will, however, affect the amount of times it can be corrected as it will be a different depth to the rest of the panels. Hence Daniel's comments of Paint Depth Guages (Paint Detective Daniel, so almost buddy!).
