Does anyone know the MS DOS Promt code to change a system filestructure from FAT32 to NTFS?? Thanks

it will only go one way i think through dos, needs a dedicated app to do it both ways... i think it will only do fat32 to ntfs... i cant remember the exact command, but check google for 'convert', which is xp only i think.

i did it the other week for someone to get their msn shared folders working.. forgot the command though

I need to change the FAT32 file structure to NTFS to enabe me to set certain permissions on files. NTFS uses permissions - FAT doesnt!

You can convert NTFS to FAT. You need to use the compact command to uncompress any files in the windows folder. Turn off System Restore (as that uses compression) and then use something like Partition Magic to do the conversion. Just remember to turn System Restore back on afterwards.
