You might also have spotted a blue 172 with a taped up front bumper, grr...
I whacked a big bit of aluminium tubing as I was joining the m'way yesterday - the car I was following kicked it up and it smacked the front valance of the car! Bumper's OK but it smashed the plastic tray under the engine plus the cover for the foglights. Not chuffed.
