I just used large head rivets - worked fine.

Rivetwise do them, its about £5 for 100, just buy a bag and have spares

I bought a bag of 100 black peel rivets from RivetWise last week for £5.40 delivered.
Its so cheap its not worth worrying about, i've got plenty of spares and arrived within a couple of days.
