ph1 or ph2???

i was just wondering wud a ph1 172 smoke a ph2 172?? a lot of ppl say the ph1's r a lot rawer and go better than the ph2?

is this rite by any chance?

mk1 is quicker yeh. think a mk2 cup is about as quick as a mk1 172

well i dnt kno, ive just heard a lot of ppl sayin that the ph1 is quicker, its all depends on the driver reali wen u think abt it,

a wee punk in a 1.6 civic jordan reckons he can whoop a 172

Phase 2 standard 172 is slowest. the Cups are the quickest (172) no aircon to sap power, loss of 90kg too...... They always tend to make their power on R/R too. And them civic jordans.... 160bhp vtec aren't they? Would give a clio a close-ish go imo

This has all been done before. Driver for driver there is bugger all in it but due to the weight loss the Cup is always going to have a slight advantage

Exactly, but the cup does have an advantage . Its all about balance tbh. The cup for me is the best drivers car, feels more alive, better brakes too (much better pedal feel) but does lack aircon. I purchased a 182 around two months ago now..... doesn't feel as sharp as the cup, that i perviously owned for nearly three years. Air con is nice, but used it about twice this year lol

Civic 1.6 VTi/Jordan (same engine) was just shy of 160bhp, 157 I believe.

buy a 172 cup end of its a combination of modern techology and retro simplicity you cant go wrong bit scarry in the snow though with no abs and esp but hey its all about the fun factor in the clio.

proven on the qtr mile many times over.
All down to weight. A mk1 weights less than a mk2 172, but of course the cup is lighter cos of the goodies not on it that weigh it down.
