Ph2 Valver - How Much?

Currently looking about for a fun car that's pretty cheap and I spotted this, N reg with 148K on the clock with a leather interior, Coilovers and 2 sets of rims.

Could do with a little bit of TLC but that's to expected, how much should I be loking to pay for one?

As prices are all over the place on Autotrader.

id guess around £700 tbh, maybe less even, bearing in mind 172's with tlc needed are dropping under 1500 :(

You can pick a half decent valver for around £800.

£300-400 will buy you a needy example.

They are cheap to get them up to scratch though, despite what people say. £350 will see new arch lips welded on and painted, £150 for the steering rack to be welded, £75 a side for new sills..... They're not that dear at al imo.

And they look and handle 10 times better than a 182/172 etc imo. (Flame suit on....)

It was on here, just done a search for the number plate and there's a couple of threads about it.

The one Daniel has is pretty mint, it's what got me thinking of the whle valver/Hybrid route.

Ahhh, shucks. :o

I want my old Black Valver back!!! :(

How much are minty (if there are any left) examples going for these days?

i paid 700 for mine, 100% standard, was on 140k, but i was planning to swap engine anyway.

its 1996, 1 lady owner from new until 6 months ago, then her cousin had it. Full service history upto 139k, every stamp in the book....every reciept in the folder.

I hpi'd it, and it was clear. But as i started ripping it apart, turns out its had a whole new drivers side, inc brand new rear quarter from renault, brand new door, etc...oh well!

100% rust free shell too, just what i was looking for......key mark down the drivers door, hence the cheapish price....im happy with it though :)

Thats no bad really.....I remember the days of the average minter costing around 3k which doesnt seem that long ago really!!!

Might have to check those funds for maybe a second car now i know they can be had for around £800 mind.
