ph3 to ph1/2 light change

Hi,

my new plan is a 16v bonnet..however i know i need to change the front lights..

is it possible to change the ph3 lights to ph1/2 on mk 1 clio?..if so is it a simple job of bolting straight on??

Think there might be a little modding to do but generally its just a swop over !! You gonna get some 16v arches aswell !??

yeah i might.... ..but just really need to know if i can just swap the lights straight across...hope i can...the the bonnet will be in ordered!

I think its a straight swap aslong as you have the proper bonnet, which your getting, so it should be ok.

If its not, just hit it with a hammer.

I cant see how its a straight swap - Phase3 lights are much bigger.

i think the bolts will be in the same place tho or should be i would of thought?

if i can get golf headlights im sure phase 1/2s will be fine

Daz, dont forget phase 3 lights are an all-in-one unit whereas ealier ones had separate indicators so width are probably same.

Also the edge against the wing looks the same, its just the height/slope against the bonnet which is different isnt it?

can you get the measurements of your lights and the measurements of the bolts (spacing and location etc) of valver lights and see if they are the same

If I cant afford to upgrade to a valver next year, then Im looking at doing the same! 16v bumper wings lights and normal bonnet onto my 1.4 Sport.

Not the most accurate measuring ive ever done but you get the idea !! The spacing on the bolts appears different !!

You could always aquire the crossmembers etc from a valver and fit them aswell !!

thats top notch help...hmmm looks like i will have to bastardise the lights and bolt holes.....

I reckon the crossmembers and bits with the bolt holes could be changed over because AFAIK they are only bolted on !! so the lights would fit properly !! Ill try and fit one of the 16v lights to my phase 3 if u like tmrw ??

cross members on phase 3s are welded in arent they. you would need the wings,bumper and bonnet and either modify the front crossmember or replace it.
