Phase 2 grille make car run warmer

Since I fitted my phase 2 grille my car seems to run warmer. It used to get up to the next big bar from the hottest when warm but when on the motorway etc it would drop half way in between.

Now it seems to stay pretty constant on that temp.

Anyone else noticed this? not a lot of difference but i keep my eye on the gauge a lot like.

maybe try flushing the coolant system.

It shoudl be on the 1st line or just above on the motorway, when you boot it the temp should drop, if you have a 19 the temp will drop right down to the bottom of the gauge above 100mph.

The phase 2 grille if anything would make it cooler as theres a larger gap for the air flow Paul. Cant see the Grille making any difference mate. Sounds like the cooling system to me as if a grille made that much difference then hats some sensitive air flow system they have !

try flushing as post above mate

Also forgot to mention the rads are usually externally blocked. Remove the rad and with a hose flush through the matrix from the engine side to the bumper side.

Also straighten and damaged fins.

It is possible for a new grilled to restrict the air flow through the rad if the engine bay is becoming overstuffed with air, but we wont go into aerodynamics etc again, we know what happened on the general discussion forum.

?????? i would have said the phase 1 grill would let more air pass....as theres nothing to it......but i cant see your temp going up that much just because of fitting the phase 2 grille !!!.....id suggest the same.....flush the cooling system....should sort it !

its not gon up loads, just a bit. im puttin a low temp thrmostat in so will flush it then.

why do you want a low temp stat.

If you can give me 1 good reason why your car, assuming its not running twice the standard power needs it I will give you a million pounds in cash straight to your door in a ferrari.

u should flush after every use. didnt u learn anything as a child

cos it gets quite warm in traffic. so may as well change the thermostat and fan switch.
