Picking up new car tomorrow.

Picking up new car tomorrow.

Current car has the petrol light on, and it's going to be touch and go whether it makes it to the dealers lol :D

They phoned me earlier, so I paid the rest of the money over the phone, so they are going to get it ready, taxed etc. Some b*****d has stolen one of the wheel caps though, so they have one on order, but it may not get there in time for tomorrow! But they can post it out to me. Just make sure all photo's are taken from one side until it appears lol. I know their Poole branch has a 182 with cup packs, so they may get that one, but doubt it.

So my poor car will probably end up auctioned off somewhere, as it's too old to go on the forecourt I expect. :(

Zee b******s gave me £4750. Which was quite good actually. They informed me that book price was about £4050, but I never believe a word salesman say lol.

Well I had it 1 day before the inevitable happened.

It broke down! :(

Started misfiring, and the exhaust monitor light flashing. Phoned Renault, they said bring it back (whilst misfiring  ) and we'll sort it.
Dropped it to them at lunchtime, hopefully will get it back tomorrow, and I'm not paying. I reckon they pressure washed the engine bay before I got it, as it's spotless, so possible water ingress somewhere. They confirmed a misfire in cylinder 2 about 5pm, and said that they will take the inlet off tomorrow and check plugs and everything else.

Apart from that it seemed good lol.

Since I test drove it and picked it up, probably about 5 or so I think. But I don't know for sure. All I know was it was on 25010 miles or above when I test drove it (25018 I think when I got back) and was 25022 when I picked it up.

I drove home in it after picking it up, (24 miles) then to Poole in the evening (65 miles return) and then a few on sunday. Then first thing this morning it started missing.

really hoped you would still have the car for sale for a while longer, just getting the dynamique back the weekend after having the head sorted then its being sold off so i can buy a black 172, absolutely gutted!!!!

ah well, it must be fate anyway, i put mine up for sale then the guide roller fubars up the head, day later your is up for sale, then gets px'd a couple of days before i get mine back, lol

Only reason I ask as I've seen one driving around here within the past 2 weeks.
I'd hate to think it wasn't just my car that they ragged without permission :dapprove:

I can tell you where it is, but it's up for sale for £5995. Though you probs would be able to get a small amount of that obviously.

It may well have been my car. Although it wasn't "my" car until New Years Eve so can't stop them racing round in their own cars lol. I tend not to think about it, what I don't know can't hurt me. As they're paying for it. Expect it was left out on the side of the road last night unlocked, but I pretend in my head it was left in a heated workshop nice and safe, and I'm happy. Unfortunately I had to take it to them as they have to repair it.

  172 mk2 Iceberg
silver is such a good colour for England................

But Racing blue for the summer mmmmmmmmmmmm

It was water in the spark plugs.

Muppets. Got to go pick it up in a bit, let the battle commence. I bet they try and say it was my fault and I have to pay.

Well they didn't even ask for any money, which surprised me.

They changed all 4 plugs, and something else, but if I want to know that I've got to phone back later as the service manager wasn't there when I picked it up. They said that the plugs are £20ish each! Is that right? Platinum tipped or something. Bit over the top for Renault lol.

  1 Series Coupe
Renault wanted to charge me £90+vat for my plugs. They have a special tool to put them in and out though...

I told them i wasnt paying £90+vat for them as i could get the plugs for £5 each and do it myself, needless to say, they did them for free!

Glad you got it sorted though!

Still ain't got any pics of it yet.

Only one I have is the one from my "Mini" thread.

Seems to be running fine so far so fingers crossed it'll stay that way.
