plasma or lcd - £800 to spend

  Fabia vRS
i have just sold my tosh 47wlt66 as i wanted something newer.

so, looking for similar size as i have at present, 47".

would like 50" if possible. seen one in tesco for around £750 i think it was, not sure if it's 1080p though.

my problem now is that i have an HD projector and play most of movies, ps3, 360, and wii on this, so my tv has kinda been relegated to just being for tv programs.

so at the moment i see plasmas seem to be 100hz and 1080p too, as i'm watching non hd tv content, would i be best off with a plasma, and can anyone recommend any specific models in this price range?

this one was tempting me....

If you're still not sure which you'd rather have, take 15mins to read this article.
It covers each area of a plasma / LCD and states which one comes out on top

e.g.

PICTURE QUALITY

As the above advantages show, plasma technology has the better picture quality in normal to low room lighting conditions and are better in 4 out of 5 picture quality categories. Plasma technology will almost without exception triumph during night time viewing. LCD televisions are great for sunroom/breakfast room type environments. Also, LCD monitors are generally better for public display such as airport signage and retail store signage due to the bright room light environment. See full article on plasma vs. LCD picture quality.
ADVANTAGE: Plasma

And get yourself down to a Currys / Comet / PC World etc to view the different screens, even if you plan to buy online. It's a good idea to compare them instore but taking into account what is being shown (HD / SD)

You can pick up a 50" Full HD plasma for around £980 from Currys, so I'm sure you can get the same online for £800>
