Do you have to run them in???

Looked on AV forum, some say yes others don't bother??

Any ideas?

you run them in, for them to last longer.

I did on my pioneer, you make sure that the settings are low i.e in colour and contrast, then turn it up by increments on x amount of time that the TV has been on.

:)

And I love my TV, specially with DVD's !! Now looking to get a 50" as my eyes have gotten used to the 43".

Which one you looking to get ?

I was unsure when I got my new plasma a few months back if it was worth running in or not as I didn't bother with my old one. After all it does not recommend such action in the manual.

But as most of the installation guys reckon its worth doing I did give it a go.

200 hours in 8 and a bit days. Film4 is the best channel to leave it on at night as there are no dogs.

It was a pain to begin with as the screen on low contrast etc looked very dark. But so far I have suffered absolutley no retention. My old plasma suffered from retention all the time.

I run mine in for around 200 hrs Steve (as many have hinted at on AVF).

Just don't have the settings turned right up.

As long as your not daft (leaving a static image/menu
screen on pause for a long time, you should be ok).
