PLEASE HELP!

Ok so I broke down the other day and my dad got his land rover and came to tow me away..

So I go to put the tow eye in from the boot into the hole where it goes in the bumper... it just pushes in, I turn it and nothing seems to happen because I can just pull it straight back out again, so we had to call an RAC man to come out and deal with the car..

But now if i break down again I don't want the hassle of not being able to tow my car because of said problem.

What do I need to do to fix this problem? I don't know if the threads gone inside or something, but I cant see it being easy to fix...

2. Tow rope around the sub frame (like I do since my tow hoop won't screw in either)

Are you sure the towing eye is for your car and not off a different car?

pretty sure as its the tow eye thats in the kit in the boot!

well im guessing im gonna have to drill and tap a new hole then... how much is that likely to cost?

Drill bit - £10 (for a decent bit)

Tap set, I would get one as it starts from a plug tap and works its way up in stages - £25 upwards I guess for a decent one
