power steering problem

hi folks,

my car had intermittent power steering which eventually culminated in none atall, at which point i changed the pump. The new pump worked for about 80 miles then only worked above 2500 rpm. So i got another pump and it doesnt work at all now. so given that 3 pumps are unlikely to be all faulty. What might the problem be other than a steering rack? I have noticed it doesn't rise 200 rpm when the steering wheel is moved at idle, could it be an electrical sensor issue? given that it started off intermittently.

theres a steering sensor which you could maybe do a search about ive always needed to check this as my steering is inconsistant and needs the revs for it to kick in
