Problems with the audible alarms etc in a 172 Cup

I've posted about this before but now I can explain better what is happening.

I've noticed that the indicator 'clicking', the 'lights left on' and 'seatbelt not on' alarm noises all sound or don't sound at all at the same time. For example, the indicator will click on and off and then suddenly stop making the clicking sound whilst its still flashing. They all work at the same time BUT they also will all not work at the same time. This just refers to the sounds not the actually lights on the dash etc. So i guess they are all getting their sounds from the same unit which is clearly working when it feels like it. Where is this unit and what can be done to fix this problem? I'm guessing it's a kind of relay and must be under the dash.

I’m told it’s something to do with the control module and would need cloning to sort out. I’m going to put this as the very last thing to do, probably after I’ve sold it!

If the UCH is your issue it’s relatively easy to physically swap. It sits under the dash on the passenger side. Someone else might be able to say otherwise but I’d think you should be able to get it out without taking the dash out.

A new/used module only will need coded to match everything unless you get one with the key and ECU too. Again, fairly easy jobs to swap provided the ECU hasn’t had a map file applied or anything.
