Product advice please...

Hello everyone, I've been a member on this forum for a loooong time, but only in June did I buy my first Clio. I havent the first clue about professional car care so I took it to a specialist and had it detailed and coated in Gyeon product. The guy said he would forward me aftercare details and products I should buy, but, not through lack of trying, I haven't received anything from him, including an invoice ?

I've had a read through the stickies, but would appreciate anyone's recommendations of tools, equipment and products so I can stay on top of the car condition.

Thanks!

If no invoice and you can't get hold of the detailer my guess would be ..........

RUSS @ midlands car care FLOL Sounds familiar !! ??

How much did he charge you by the way?

@davo172 you got it in one!

Autoworld wanted £300 for G3 glasscoat. I messaged Midland car care to see what they would recommend. For the same price he provided the Gyeon product.

Russ has been in hospital in the last couple of months with quite a serious problem, so I've given him the benefit of the doubt.

Have you had a bad experience?

Use auto detox in future mate if I were you.
Hope you manage to get hold of Russ but I doubt it.

Wet coat or auto finesse aqua coat are great products and easy to use.

Citrus power for winter if not using snow foam is very good also pressure wash off. Carpro wash it and 2 bit wash but you probly know that already.

How you getting on mate what products you get?
Did you manage to get a reply from Russ??

I've been looking around at different products and tools for too long and was getting fed up with not knowing, and having a dirty car. So on Saturday I went to Halfrauds on a whim and just brought some stuff to get me off the ground. They only had one foam lance, by Karcher, so for £15 I took a punt on it. Went with auto glym polar something shampoo, some spray stuff to blacken the tyre sidewalls, interior plastic cleaner and glass cleaner. Couple of buckets, a lambswool mitt, a microfiber drying towel and a wheel brush for the harder to reach bits.

No I never heard back from Russ, next time I'm in Walsall I'll pay him a visit. It's a shame really cause he did a good job and he's local

I’ve been cleaning cars for nearly 20 years now. In my experience, products vary on quality based on nothing other than the user.
By that, I mean that a product I love and find easy to use, you may hate and vise versa.

I find the easiest way to get ‘in to’ car cleaning is to buy the basics (like you have done) and then just add more to your armory once you are confident in what you want to achieve and you work out what you like/don’t like.

I personally find Autofinesse offer the best products for the beginner. Their products are really easy to use, their website explains EVERYTHING in detail and the staff are really helpful. Once you get used to the product used and terminology, expand a bit.

Probably not the answer you hoped for but fingers crossed it will set you up well.
