ps3 question

  none :(
do you need an aftermarket lead to play to ps3 in hd, or does one come when you buy the console.

if you have to buy one, what lead would you recommend

  FF 182, K5 GSX-R1000
iirc you need to buy the HDMI cable seperately. Cant believe the expensive cables make that much difference so i just went for a known brand.

  911 GTS Cab
f**k me, £400 for a console then you have to pay for a new lead!
ok 360 boy, how about providing a wireless controller without providing the rechareable battery and the means to charge it, and not building wireless in as standard even though most people will conect by that, oh and only providing the ageing technology of DVD on a next gen player restricting future gaming capabilities because of the small disc size and not offering HD out of the box with no HD drive or HDMI connection until 2 yrs after release where most people are now without it!;)

Shall I go on........

i went for a nice Belkin cable, good bargain off ebay.

I wouldn't go for a cheapo one, if you want the best quality picture they why skimp on a cable.

I wouldn't go monster though as IMO they are massively over priced.

  Rav4
correct me if i´m wrong, but tekken is already out, unless they are releasing a new one, current version tekken 6.

I got ps3, 2 games, 2 blue ray movies, hmdi cable, extra official wireless controller, 5 pound off a game or DVD and 5 free rentals for 375!!!! only went in to rent a DVD !

It is quite a lot of money, but you have an excellent DVD player too.

(no pound sign on this keyboard.)

Cheap cable or expensive cable equals no difference if the run is less than 5m.

How can there be no difference in the cable below 5m yet over?

Obviously it will be exacerbated over long distance but different cables will give different levels/noise meter for meter.

  Rav4
most distances are going to be around 2 metres on average, being a digitial output of 0´s and 1´s, I don´t think that the difference between a 5 pound and 100 cable is going to be noticed that much if not at all, in order to justify the difference.

LOL

I never realised that the brand of hdmi Cable could make such a difference!!

I picked up a sht one from PCWORLD! And tbh the quality is just fine (Thats prbly because im using a pc monitor).

The cheapest one :) Lidl, £5 and will do the job perfectly well. Digital leads either work or they don't work.

:)

Without a doubt, I don't know why people don't agree with this.!!

I'm sure that the packet rate up to 5 metres is virtually perfect, but after a larger distance some blocks just don't get there.

Scientifically, I don't understand how there can be a difference in quality, maybe i'm just being stupid.

Forgive me.... but

HDMI is digital... the signal either gets there (perfect picture) or you don't get a picture at all (or random block artifacts depending on the algorithm)
