1.5 can use homebrew for illegal software etc and home made programs
2.0 can use some homebrew now, but not as much or as stable as 1.5 apparently. Internet browser was added
2.5 and 2.6 cant use homebrew yet as far as i know
Dont really know much about the official updates but if you wanted cracked games, stick to 1.5.
I'm on 2.6 myself.
