Quality cheap spraying in Southampton

So Im really, really p*ssed off :(

Scraped the front bumper on my 172 last night when I was putting it to bed for the night. Must of have my frigging eyes closed since my garage isnt that tight. At least I didnt damage any metal work.

Damage is couple of 3 cm long scrapes down to plastic plus other scuffing. Nothing to drastic, and hope can be fixed without taking bumper off.

So, questions are :

Any recommendations on honest, quality spraying shops in Southampton area?
First damage Ive inflicted in 15 years of driving too fast. What should I expect to pay for what is a small bit of damage?
Cheers!

try some tcut and give it a good polish..might find it dosent need respraying.

if its bad enough to need respraying...usually the best finish is when they respray the whole bumper...however some places will just blend over the scratch and re laquer it...tbh your better not skimping on spraying...if its done right it can ruin your car:(

Reason Im so p*ssed is cause its down to the black plastic - basically skimmed the paint off so nothing left to tcut :(

Damage is pretty limited (size wise) - any idea how much bumper spray likely to cost? Thinking about having side strips colour coded at same time (since they stand out as only plastic bits on 172). Dont have any idea what to expect £ wise tho!?

hi andy. where bouts u from?? im in freemantle..

craigy172s in woolston (i think)

and theres blatabout and sawa172 who i believe are both in totton.

and i know good sprayers if u want but they aint cheap. but not too expensive. - u get what u pay for though

ive had quite alot of work on my car now and ive come to the conclusion that getting cheap jobs usually results in a poor job. Although Im sure there are plently of sprayers who can give a good finish for a cheap price!

I think your worth paying the extra and getting someone with a good reputation. You will go home smiling:)

brother-in-law just had a big scrape on his plastic painted bumpers fixed, about 4 semi deep (right through to plastic) scratches.

chipsaway came out and resprayed just that bit of the bumper for £130 the job was mint.. cant tell the difference between old and new..

The guy was out for 3 hours doing it.. but he must have filled it in a bit too cause now its nice and smooooooth..

BenJ - Im in Hedge End. Seems theres a few of us around but not too many!! Always laugh when I see all the TT and Type R drivers trying not to notice each other and have to admit their cars are common :) Fast Clio fans always get respect from me on the rare occasions I see them!

Ive thought about taking the Chipsaway route, but Im always suspicious of anything which claims to be "up to 50% cheaper" than local body shop. Reckon for small jobs theyre probably more expensive just like paintless dent removal folk - "we price by the panel sir" when all Ive got is single ding in my boot-lid.

Even so reckon Ill pull Chipsaways chain, and also follow-up with BenR. Ultimately Im just after straight deal from indie - not going anywhere near a dealership.

Ta for the replies! Im new to Cliosport and forums - totally cool how helpful everyone is

Im in Shirley and thinking about getting the plastic side bits and bumpers colour coded. I have no idea how you spray parts like that. Do they take it off the car or just mask off everything else and hope for the best?

Any ideas of pricing for that kind of work?

Cheers Ben. I will look them up.

Saw a nice valva going past on a country lane near Botley yesterday. Cant remember the colour (it was a long day!) but think it was white. Its good to know there are some of us in the area.
