question on apex springs

  Clio MK 4
I know they are a s**te ride and that but would upgrading shocks with the apex springs help? Or is it not worth it?

Surely if you have the money to get upgraded shocks, you might aswel get a decent spring too.

Apex imo, is just a cheap quick drop. Thats it. Thats the reason i bought them anyway.

The ride on Apex isn't much different to when I had mine on sportlines, though it is a little bit stiffer. Upgrading the shocks doesn't really do a lot for comfort, just makes sure that the car can handle being so low basically!

I know a couple of people use koni shocks with apex but i think they are around £400 a set anyway. So with them and cost of springs you could get a set of FK highsports!

IMO of course

I want the drop but with out spending for collies. It just the whole stay away from apex is putting me off and its true i dont fancy a really bad ride.

yeh i dont think they were that bad on my old car, all it all comes down to what you are used to.
i went from a corsa on rock hard coilovers to a 172 on apex's and i found them quite soft compaired.

Lol, they're fine. The ride is a bit bumpy - unless you're transporting young children, elderlies or you have a particularly bad back, you'll be fine.

  Clio MK 4
I guess for 80 odd quid i cud get them and if really dont like the ride sell up and get some sportlines. i'll only lose around 30 quid in all.

I really like the ride on apex springs. i lowered mine 40mm, the ride is pretty solid but not as sh*t as people are making out!

ITs not that bad, but handles bullshit. And is only worth it if your using them on their own, as daniel said, i see no point spending 400 quid on shocks to use with apex, its just silly. May aswel shed out for coilovers.

ITs not that bad, but handles bulls**t.

That really depends on what you're using your car for - they've been absolutely fine on the few blasts I've managed this weekend.

If you tracking your car then, fair enough, but as a daily drive and some spirited driving they are fine.
