Question on Road Tax buying

Question posed to me by my mate, and I'm not sure of the answer! lol

If she owns the car and it's insured in her name, can her other half by the road tax?

Does it matter who's name is on the insurance certificate?

Could it be bought online to save hassle? Is it just a case of entering card details and insurance details??

Yes you can buy it online and no it doesn't matter who pays for it at all.

I've paid for other peoples tax at the post office before and other people have paid for mine.
