Quick question about PAC codes on mobiles

Just got my pac code from orange.

Want to take out a new contract, so I can get the phone I want.

Can i use the orange pac code to re-join orange and get my old number back?

I don't think so. I think you first need to transfer it onto a Orange PAYG sim card and then they will allow you to transfer it back onto a contract sim. Bit of a silly route but the only one available.

Think PAC code is only valid for 30 days or something (operator will confirm) so if you don't transfer accross in 30 days or whatever it says on your letter you remain with them until you advise that you want PAC code again.

or you could buy some sim cloining equipment and do it that way LOL
