quick question

  none :(
had my 36k service done last yr - car is now on 45k went out today and the service came on and is now on all the time, also the trip normally says "oil ok" but today it said something like this "oil ---"

what does this mean, does it mean i just need to put some more oil in or does it need to go in - sorry if this question sounds stupid im not very car minded ;)

the "SERV" light has nothing to do with a service

it'll be linked to a fault somewhere (main ones are low brake pads caused by low fluid level, dodgy connector under the passenger seat etc etc)

check the dipstick, not what the digital readout says

Its a electronic oil gauge, yep it wants more oil putting in. Thought don't rely on the gauge to know if your put enough in its as its not supposed to be the most accurate thing in the world, use the dipstick.

edit: beated too it.
