RAC Windscreens :-(

Has anyone else had a problem with them?

Last tuesday they came out and fitted me a new screen was all great stood watching over the guy to make sure he did it right without damaging my little car! I get in it to drive home and notice a hair which i thought was on the outside, turns out its between the 2 laminates. so i phone them up and they come out to me today with a new screen all good - different guy though - i had a busy day so couldnt stand over him. get home after work and have a look round and notice the trims arent sitting nicely (looks like they are non genuine renault trims too) and he's broken a clip that holds the scuttle panel down on the near side so ive got to phone up and moan at them tomorrow.

Just wondered if anyone else has had these kind of problems?

I already said this to you on the facebook msn thingy, but yeah they are a pain in the arse! They didn't fit the trim right on mine either and it came flying off when I was driving on the motorway! When I called them out to tell them another guy come out and had to fit another new windscreen as the other one was too low!

Also my previous car before my clio got broken into and when they replaced the door window it was the wrong colour glass! Plus they didn't take the broken glass out the panel before fitting the new one, so every time I opened and closed the door all the broken glass rattled!

Also I had to book the morning off work for them to replace it and I was waiting and waiting... I eventually rang them to find out where they got to and they remembered me booking it in but they forgot to put it on their systems so I took the morning off work unpaid for nothing, because they refused to come out the same day even though it was their c**k-up!

As you can tell, I really love them!!

yep its quite common we have had a few issues with various companies

budget windscreens did mine and broke a scuttle panel clip didnt make an issue though

blame any other scratches on the front of your car you may have on the installer too, will be no questions asked

Yeah i know you did deb but id already booked them by then!!!
I havent really had the chance to do a mega close inspection but will definitely do it today and ring them to moan!!! The guy who fitted the 1st one i couldnt fault him he was great (quite dishy too lol), it wasnt his fault there was a defect in the glass! Theyre meant to check the glass over before fitting... he did and i did and we both didnt spot the defect, so i cant balme him for anything!

it would be a renault trim but reckon they saved your old trim and used it again with rac you just have to make sure you dont get one of there screens with rac logo on it dont look to nice lol

Nope its new trims but they just dont look like the old ones!

yep its got the sh!tty RAC on the screen

Had the guy who originally fitted it come out uesterday and he's goingto get me a new clip and fit it for me - isnt that nice

i used autoglass for mine.... guy was a bit of an oink, but apart from that all good
