Rear discs

  Rb 182

I want to put a 16v rear beam on my Rt to have discs all round (fronts on there way) but how hard is it to do? Does the torsion bar have to come off? How dear are they? Any info would be great.

Youll have a lot of trouble - Valver is wider track at the back so without wider arches, youll be scraping Id have thought!

You need an RSi Rear Beam if anything.. but I dunno what happens about brake bias etc.. might be a lot of trouble for not much gain.

Hmm thats what i was thinking, just thought that rear discs would have given it more braking stabilty. Maybe not. Cheers anyway Daz.

They dont do that much anyway..

I *think* the actual beam is pretty much a straight swap - but its everything else which I can see causing a problem. I dunno - Ive never done it; maybe someone on here has wholl be able to say.

I had the rear beam on my RT converted. Used a R5 GTT rear beam. GDI did the conversion. Problem with the R5 beam is there is no brake bias adjuster on it like there is on some of the others. Didnt really make much of a difference though. Most difficult part was getting the handbrake cable to fit as the standard one is to long and had to be shortened.
