rear shocks

  DCi
I was alerted to some funny stains on my drive which appears to be a leaky rear shock last night :(

I assume it is best to change both shocks at once?

Is there any aftermarket shocks that I might consider (don't really have the budget for full coilovers right + it's a road car mainly)

I have read a guide and it doesnt mention that I will need spring compressors - is that right? (that will make like easier :rasp:)

correct change in pairs. no you dont need compressors just the right bloody spanner / socket which i didnt (18mm springs to mind which most small socket sets miss out i think).
1 bolt on rear axle, 1 nut in boot and 15 min job (fred could do em both in 5 not doubt :) )
bout £110 for the pair

Unless you have the cash to replace the dampers all round for something a bit spanglier, I would imagine the sensible bet is to just replace with OEM rear shocks.

As above, need to be replaced in pairs.

I actually have some second hand rear FK shocks and springs coming up for sale as of this weekend (just fine condition, just upgrading coilovers) if you are interested? PM me if so.

I had a bit of a barney with mine as the top nut requires a flat bladed screwdriver or something to hold the shaft from moving while the nut is turned.......and as said above, if you dont have a spanner the right size, it can be a b**ch. Think I used an adjustable......
