Recommend me a cheap diesel auto <£5000

Ok so need some recommendations for a diesel work horse. Main criteria is automatic as I'm sick of manual cars for my horrendous commute Liverpool-Manchester (15k miles P/A), also must be able to tow a car transporter for track days in the 182 and have a big enough load space for family holidays. No VAG shite! My current short list is as follows:-

BMW e90 320d, Volvo D5 (S60,S80,V70), Saab 9-3 TTID, MKIV Mondeo Titanium X

What would you recommend?

Missus hates them, says they look far to dated to some extent she's right. The 330CD looks great but the saloon and estate not so much.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but in mine they look dated, that would look even more dated parked next to my i3.

I agree the interior does look dated but the exterior look good compared to the e46. I'd love a 330d e91 but I'd be sifting through the sediment for £5k, it may have to be back to the trusty old Volvo...flat cap and pipe at the ready!
