Looking to get a decent camera for when our baby is born an for holidays etc got a budget of £300. let me know what you think

cheers

Digital Rev have both the Canon S110 and Panasonic LX7 for under £300.

You could even step up to a panasonic GF3. It's micro 4/3 changeable lens camera but with the ease of use of a point and shoot.

See your already confusing me with its micro changeable etc have you got a link to the other cameras you've recommend mate

Digital Rev are HK based, but I think a lot of there stuff includes fees - small print needs reading! Most I have ever been stung for in fees was £30 from fedex and that was an ebay purchase.

LX7:

F1.4-2.3. Excellent for indoor photography.

GF3 no longer avaliable.

X10 is also another great camera for indoors:

F2.0-2.8

S110

Or if you want some zoom, the SX260:

Bar the SX220, the other three are very high end. All have manual modes if you fancy getting creative, but all have full auto modes with numerous scence selections you can use if you like.

The S110 is by far the most compact, but also as mention consider the older S100:

I think the slight rubber grip on the front actually makes it a better to hold.

But do bear in mind that the Canon goes from F2-5.9 making it slower in low light than the other when zoomed out.

I purchased a S100 from DigitalRev and it got a lens error, I contacted DigitaRev and they said I could send it to them at there expense or to a UK service depo and if there was a charge let them know and they would pay the cost.

I sent it off to Canon UK and they didn't have the parts in stock to fix it so they sent me a new S100.

I would buy from DigitalRev again plus I got the camera 3 days after ordering it.
