Redex

  Skoda Fabia vRS

i just did the redex thing on my car, where you pour 50ml down the plug holes

SMOKE, christ almighty ive never seen anythin like it, i made my street deep in thick fog hehe

it is supposed to smoke

and it cleans the carbon build up/gum deposits in the engine

hehe, yea it did last a few minutes, its all through now and my car does honestly feel better for it, i didnt think it would to be honest

I did it with my mates ancient W reg talbot. The smoke screen that filled my road had the locals passing the story around about "the car that blew up" for ages.

Is it totally safe to use though? I might stick some in my valver but dont want to cause any damage!

id say its a lot better than 10K Boost, ive got some Wynns Carb Cleaner which is essentially the same as 10K Boost an it doesnt seem to do anythin

ive used Redex in my petrol for a while now, mainly as it stops corrosion, but also to help keep the internals clean, like Optimax

if you get some, dont be lazy an just stick it in the tank, do the plugs thing, my car today on the way to work was the smoothest its ever been

all you do is get your car nice an toasty, turn off igntion, get ur plugs out, pour 50ml down each hole, leave for 30 minutes, put a rag over all the holes, turn the car over for 10 seconds, stick the plugs back, drive around for about 10 minutes

you might find the car a little difficult to start at first, but try a few times in short bursts and it WILL start dont worry, try hittin the gas a bit to help it out, and you may find you need to keep the revs high for the first 2-3 minutes of driving, after that just cruise around for a bit until your confident its all through

Good stuff that i used to use mite have to get some 2morrow and put some in.have u put it in ur petrol tank..

Cheers Pete

Surely pressing the accelerator makes no difference as the ECU is using the the cranking ignition setting and the injector map has the same value at every load site for idle, sorry to be piccy, im bored ;)

it wont fire obviously, but it tries, just turn the key

and hittin the gas helped to start mine, so i dunno, seemed to have an effect

an yea i use it in my petrol quite regularly, bought a 1L bottle of it, came with a 250ml bottle for free :D

Daves book is good eh!

i got mine free when i got start letter in CCC mag about underbody aerodynamics on the MP14......soz, im so proud thats all.

The virtual motor is a bit dull tho aint it! LOL

OH!

and the Map sensor is gonna see a higher flow of air though and accordingly increase fueling with the reading from the potentiometer as you ahve to run it rich to start.......so you adjust the cold/hot start settings......;)

Its a good book, but one youve read it a few times, its really rather basic and YOU and I need more!!!!
