Removing Door cards

  1995 Mondeo Speed Machine

Ive got an annoying rattle coming from the passenger side door when I crank the stereo up a bit and its really starting to piss me off!
Anyway Im going to take the door card off and totally sound proof the inside and make sure that none of the trim is loose. Has anyone else done this before on a phase 1 clio?

If so did you have to take the passenger seat out to get to it, and was it a pain lining up the rod for the inside door release as Im woriied about stuffing this up and not being able to open the door!

Hi mate, I wanted to remove the door card because I had a really annoying rattle and also wanted to fit annodised door pins.

Basically I gave up in the end because after removing all the screws, it is still held on really tight with plastic clips. I managed to pop a few out but I was having to putt so hard on the door card I was worried I was going to break something so I left it.

Its one of those jobs that I always say Ill end up doing but never have the bottle to go back to.

Let me know how you get on

The door card?
All you wanna do is take the door card off?
Wouldnt say its hard at all, just take all the screws off and pull it. Some of the clips can be a bit hard just prise them with a screw driver. The worst bit is all this black sticky stuff they stick it down with, gets everywhere.

instead of goin to the hassle of takin the passenger seat out, simply park in an open space, and open the door

sorry hehe

No not really.
The black sticky stuff stays there so its just used again.
Its not really needed as such tho, the clips and screws hold it on well enough.
(still cant see why you would wanna take the seat out? Thats not hard tho, just a bit of hassel)
