the diamond doesnt push off the boot lock you have to remove the whole boot lock,i think its like 3 bolts to remove, pritty str8 forward when you see it

Take the inner boot skin off. Just one screw then the plastic pops off.

Then you have to get to the three bolts holding the diamond and handle off. They are tricky to get at as the bottom one has a metal skin which prevents easy access IIRC.

Its fairly easy. Once off i dont think you can use the boot button. And theres a big gaping hole on the boot.

The diamond is also plastic welded onto the handle, So you cant take it off and paint it.. Which is what i planned to do.

Best off get a spare, paint it (if thats what you plan to do) then swap the painted over for the normal one.

See my post above ;) It is do-able. you can pick the plastic glue crap off easily

^^ Beaten too it. Good guide.

So the diamond isnt plastic welded in? It looked like it was to me.

Posting at the same time there!!

No its more of a glue type stuff. I just used a small flat screwdriver and "chossed" it away slowly. All my 'lugs' are still intact and in fact my rear badge is only pushed back into place.. no re gluing ,although i would recommend re gluing it, I just haven't because I am thinking off trying other colours etc in the near future.

You can assemble it back up without the diamond on. That will give you enough time to let the Badge dry. I left the plastic trim off on the boot on mine to make it easier to put the badge back onto the Lock. You don't have to but I couldn't be arsed to do everything!
