Renault Captur 2019
Hi, apologies in advance if this isn't appropriate, but I was recommended through Reddit to ask in Renault forums. And apologies if I'm short on detail, I don't know much about cars!
I was wondering if there was anyone Birmingham/West Midlands based who might be able to help get my car out of limp mode with a can clip?
Our automatic Renault Captur 2019 has had some electrical issues where random error lights pop up on the dash. Around a year back the type pressure sensor and pollution alarm were flagging up which caused the car to go into limp mode. When we took it to the Renault garage they just reset the alarms, but didn't actually seem to fix anything. The issues happened again pretty quickly and they agreed to replace the spark plugs free of charge (though I'm not sure if that was actually needed). It seemed okay for a while after that though.
Sporadically we've had the tyre pressure sensor warning appearing again, despite the tyre pressure being fine when we check it. This is one we can turn off ourselves, though recently we must have left it for a bit too long because suddenly the car has gone back into limp mode with loads of lights flashing up again.
We took it to a local Halfords who had a look and were able to turn off a couple of alarms. As far as they could tell the car itself looked fine, but recommended taking to back to Renault for proper review. The car is unfortunately still in limp mode, and Renault don't have availability for weeks. Even though it seems like the car is probably fine, we're not comfortable driving it in this mode for so long, especially with our daughter in the back.
Since I found out about can clip, I wanted to see if there's anyone local who'd be able to help reset limp mode while we wait for availablity at the Renault garage?
Thanks
