replaced the rear shocks today

well finally after a few weeks of bad handling i finally got round to replacing the rear shocks with the help of jamesstone,so heres a few pics of the afternoon

once the car was in the air we finally managed to get one of the shocks of using trusty wd40 and a lot of strength,as they must have been the original ones

so once we got one of it looked like this...well and truly knackered

so once that was renewed the other one went on without a problem...once done my neighbour came over and took james out in his caterham..

so whilst they went out to play i had a quick tidy up and took a few snaps of jamesstones 172

once he got back we had a quick blast in my clio and what a difference..so thanks again james your a star and also to burp for the rear shocks

check out the axle stand.lol. Wouldnt like to be under there... good work though. Got to do mine asap as they're foooked.

the axle stands were safe as houses although they did look a bit dodgy at first

Glad we got it all sorted, the state of that shock was unreal, axle stands were sweet as, we also had the standard reno jacks in place too just in case ivan's ph1 wanted to crush me

That kit car was ace, just over 500kg power to weight ratio :evil:

thats one awesome caterham he's got..i cant believe you got to go out in it before me...ive been pestering him for the last 18 months thanks again james..next up is the exhaust,remap and the bumpstrips to colour code

yes you can tell the difference between a good one and a bad one...before the back end used to slide badly round left hand bends,that bad i couldnt go any faster than 30mph otherwise i would have lost it..but now after testing today all is sweet and tight,and the bend that i couldnt take fast is now a distant memory

ask jamesstone what the cars like now...i think he was quite shocked considering its still standard..and because of the shock he's never seen it go that quick when i took him out in it

deffo come over next weekend though 12/13th see if we can get the bracknell lot over and have a barbie at mine on the saturday evening..plenty of parking and always a place to crash at mine if you wanna beer

Couzens, sorry to hear about the cambelt mate .. good excuse for the 172 drop in though :evil: but if funds restrict & you need a hand with repairing the standard let me know, had the top end apart twice on my old 1.2... cambelt... then a year later head gasket :dapprove:
