  Clio 1.6 16v 2003

on 17s the back looks crap compared to the front, the view through the allys to the disks looks so much better.

is it poss to change the back to disks, ive got a 52 1.6 dynamique if anyone is clued up on this.

if you can find a cheap rear axle then changing it over is easy enough.youll just have to change/modify the brake pipes.

its some of the really top models with leather interior etc that have the rear discs.cant remember the model name.

Well ive deffinately seen 1.6 16vs with rear disks !! And was informed that the ones with EBD came with them and the rest didnt !! Maybe he confused EBD with something else ? really weird though, becasue when i was going to buy my 1.4 dynamique i REALLY wanted a 1.6 because of the rear disks !! dunno why yours and many others havnt !!

umm... think uve forgotten what "mr sheep" asked, lol. in short yes u can get disks fitted but not easily

f**k you fubar !! We havnt forgotton were trying to help !! If we can find out which model has rear disks then we can find out which rear axle he needs !!

priveledge rings a bell.bit of a rare model though.probably easier to find a 172 rear axle dont you think?

i believe the cars with esp have rear discs(or am i just clutching a straws:confused:)
mainly but not always.have done a clio at work with esp but rear drums.as long as you have abs you can have esp.esp just uses a abs hydraulic block with extra solenoids,an extra yaw sensor, steering angle sensor and a multiplex connection between injection and abs.

Would this conversion be the same for a mk 1 1.4 clio?

Would I just need to get the rear axle off a valver in order to have rear discs?

And would I need to change the master cylinder and hoses?

The rear axle off a valver is wider than the RTs rear axle !! Thats why it has flared arches. The RSi has rear disks AFAIK and the axle is the same width as yours !!

I think its the Initiale you guys are on about, theyre almost as pricey as 172s arent they? I think they must use the 172 rear axle and brake set up anyway, would be cost effective.

you would need a rsi rear axle.as craig says the valver one is to wide so your wheels would catch the arches.

this is mega interesting! i got a mk 2 ph 1 rsi (1.6 16v) so would that mean if i wanted to do the same as mr sheep and have dics all round i would just need to get a 172 rear axel?

wot price u reckon we lookin at for the conversion if we had got the axel?

I am think about getting one done. Costs about £200.00 though!!

The 172 rear axle should be the same length as non 172 rear axle. Should just be a case of changing the axle and plumbing in the brakes.

is that all in inc labour and parts?

how much would the parts be?

the axle would bolt straight on. you would need the 172 handbrake cables and possibly have to modify/change the brake pipes.

ok wen some one got a price can u let me know! basicly price with al parts and labour and price just for labour if i get the parts! would be much appreciated!
