Restoration Project

I am planning to try and restore my 1991 Clio Energy.

Its in desperate need of some hard work. My first port of call is the leak i have, i think its coming from a hole in the floor, but i cannot be certain, but when i have cured this, how do i go about replacing the carpet thats in it, as it is "minging" to say the least. Is there any existing companies that will replace your carpet, fully fitted properly?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Will post next queries, as and when i get to the next stage

The leak will be the heater matrix, it is a dash out job.
Also if you need any mk1 bits then winston is your man he's in manchester so not too far from you.

Your best bet is to scour here & ebay for a carpet, fitting will be fairly straight forward, once the seats are out. Should take you an hour tops i'd have thought.

With regard to the leak, also check the sunroof area (if it's got a sunroof) as the mk1 is notorious for leaking through the roof aeriel.

Nice one, well the heater matrix is causing my lack of the hot stuff, so i gotta check that anyway. Yeah there is a sunroof, but its never used so i might look into replacing the headlining, and plate over the sunroof. I'll be buggered if i can find the matrix though, i ripped half the dash out today, along with goold old "mr haynes" but couldnt see it, it started raining too so i couldn't have a proper gander, any hints as to the quickest way to find it?
