Retrofitting one touch windows

  1.6 Astra Sporthatch
Hi,

My clio doesn't have one touch window switches on it at the moment, but I got some switches from a clio at the breakers for both drivers side and passenger side with the extra one touch bit.

My question is this, can I simply connect up the new switches and have one touch windows? Do I need renault clip or anything to enable them?

Thanks

Ay I has seen it yarp. It's down like its an option in the UCH on some cars but doesn't give me the option to put it in when reprogramming mine.

Can't do it on the N2 from my experience and haven't yet tried on an N3.

As Ethan has a mk3 I'm not sure but as he's local I'm happy to give it a shot if he wants to put the switch in.

N2 shows whether it's a one touch passengers window but then doesn't give the option to invert the selection so it does have it. Same with the rain sensor as I found out recently.

Ebay, the clone versions.

I dont own one , but my boss does.

I much prefer the Delphi diag tool I have but that can't do what clip does.

Clones are alright aslong as you watch what you are doing. Bricks can be shat at most things on it lol

Vagcom is just a cable but clip is a box of magic.

As Raz says almost everything of interest that only Clip can do is pretty scary stuff. I have screwed up once as Alex knows when I wiped my ECU, I learnt from that and know how to use the thing now.

Just been out and had a play with the Clios. You chaps are lucky I carry it in my boot all the time! My car doesn't give the option. When programming the UCH it only gives the option for configuring as an N2 and then not the one touch window after that.

Lauren's clio has an N3 uch but it's programmed to be an N2. I don't want to run the tiny risk of leaving her stuck here in Bournemouth so will have a play with that uch when it's in my car in the next couple of weeks. I imagine I will be given a fair few more options when making it an N3. It says n3 on the box for anyone wondering.

Thanks for the offer that's very kind of you! :) I got the switch from a Renault Laguna as it looked identical and had one touch and fit in the handle, the plugs different though! It's the drivers side one touch window switch, the physical plugs the same there's just one extra plastic tab stopping it from going in.

If you're ever local to pembury and fancy fitting a Parrot kit ;)

My old 172 had it, and I didn't even realise until Fred @ BTM pointed it out to me. It was a 51 plate, no idea why it had it and others didn't. Maybe a trait of early build ph2 172s that later got phased out?

You should be able to ammend the plug so it fits. Much the same as fitting a 197 airbag to a 182. Just requires a little bit on the plug sanded off. Give it a go, if it end up fitting both you've lost nothing. As in the diagrams for the ph2 you also need to have the wiring going from the switch to the UCH. I imagine it's a similar story oh the mk3.
