Evening folks,

Thought I would say hi as It’s been a very long time since I owned a Clio and was last on ClioSport...circa 2006!

Use to own a 1.2 mk2 ph1 as a youthful 18 year old when I was last here;

Since then I’ve had a few hot hatches over the years;

- 106 GTI
- Mk3 Ibiza Cupra R
- Mk4 Golf R32

However, ultimately had to move onto dreaded dirty diesels daily because of the commute to work in recent years (8P A3 S-Line and current daily Passat CC).

So after convincing the Mrs to let me get a “wee toy” that I could tinker with and that was actually fun to drive and after having so much fun in my first Clio, a 172/182 was the obvious choice and so a couple of months ago I managed to picked up a reasonably tidy 2002 iceberg silver 172 with a decent amount of history;

Car has a few mods already done, including;

-Cup 172 Turini’s
-Lowered on Apex springs
-Stealth stainless exhaust
-K&N panel filter.

I think it’s had an interesting life and has had a few owners it’s its time (believe I’m it’s 12!) so would be interested to hear if anyone on here knows the car or has any additional history on it.

Got a few plans for the car and would ultimately like to do a couple of track days in it but it’s a long way from being ready for that. It has already swallowed up lots of my time with lots of “unplanned” and “surprise” jobs, but I am loving being back in a Clio and my first taste of 172 life .

Looking forward to getting to know the forum again and will no doubt be looking for some bits for the car in the coming months.

Cheers,

Ross
