Shift Light

Should my clio mk1 172 have a shift light. My cup did, But I still havent seen it on this car, Have taken it to the limiterin 2nd and still not seen it. Should it have one? and if you have the cup chipped does it stop the limiter light coming on, because I bought the car 2nd hand and it seems to hardly ever get to the limiter like the cup did.

not all mk 1s had it if its chipped the light moves with it
