Short throw gear lever - worth it?

  Clio 172
Has anyone fitted one of these to their clio (K-Tec do them). Does it make much of a difference. I'm actually looking to get one for the aesthetics, but wondered how they performed too.

I don't like the one on my car. You can change gear quicker but you can damage the box by fast shifting so I end up shifting just as slow.

ive got one on my 182 and i think its fb.cos the lever is alot shorter the movment is alot shorter to throw down and change.the actual speed of the change doesnt really alter that much.i also like the style and the feel of the knob....
only thing is the price.....(ouch...lol)

renault gearbox's are bad enough without being rushed by a shorter throw. They look better, probably feel more positive, but in terms of improving the speed of the gear change, forget about it.

Yes, agree!!! Lever is shorter, make the Clio's driving position even worst. I got one on my Clio 172 when I bought it a year ago. And I don't think the shifting had shorter much. Usually, the really short one are easy to get to wrong gear. Another thing is - it makes the shirting even stiffer.
