Should I go see the dealer

Ive asked simular questions about my 182 clio in the past..

Ive had the car about 3-4 weeks and ive done 650 miles.

My question is, after leaving the car idle for a few hours it seems unhappy to start... it kind of stalled this morning when I didnt really hold the key on long enough (nont enough for a normal car to stall though)...

After the initial start up the rev counter bounces up and down a little between 800 RPM and 2000 RPM.... i give it a little rev and after about 30 seconds the car is fine... sometimes however when I pull off in the morning its fairly sluggy and slow and after the 30 seconds timer the car comes to life and scares me silly.

This is my first clio especially a 182 and im not sure what to expect... if it was any other car I would think its crap and have taken it to the garage.. the thing is the car seems fine once it gets going... fast and plenty of speed etc.

The engine makes a tapit kind of noise when ticking over to its self and I know a few of you said this was normal.

It sounds just like mine to be honest, and my 172 before it. You could take it to your dealer but I always worry what problems they might cause!!

As I close my garage door in the morning mine sits there revving itself happily, then it kangaroos off down the road for the first couple of minutes of driving (me in it of course). Its a sideeffect of what they do to get it through emission tests apparently.

nothing to worry about, mine is an absoloute tw*t starting and running before really warmed up, its the car unfortunately.

A friend of mine whose a mechanic but not for renaut said its te way they tuned the engine to gear it up for performance and at higher speeds etc...

After all i guess the car is not designed to be sat there.... or am I just telling myself what I want to hear

i have tried this the last two mornings and it worked turn the ignition on, not the engine just electrics for about 10 sec turn it off then turn the engine on and it starts first time no probs

Yeah I have seen a massive improvement when I jsut get in the car, turn the key to ignition and then put my seat belt on etc and then start the car... its a ot more happy with that.

always worth letting lights go out first, give it about 5 seconds before cranking I do that and never had any probs.

Turn the key to auxilliary, but then you need to wait for the circular imobiliser light to go off - it is in the centre of the display - to the left of SERV! Then turn the key the rest of the way to start!!
