Sky+ box

if i get a sky+ box from on the cheap, can i use my normal card in it? Also can u just upgrade the sky+ subscription without buying the box through them?

No idea about the card, but you do need a second cable run from the dish in order to use both receivers, to record one channel and watch another.... I had new card when I got mine as well...

As mentioned you will need a second feed coming from you LNb (Dish)

Placing ur existing card wont just work, will need to ring Sky to activate the serial number of new box.

They may not activate it as you dont have a Sky + Subscription, which i dont think you can get unless you have the second feed etc... or buy box from them.


To use the recording feature - thats the subscription.
Its linked to Sky.
