Phone Sky.
What do you mean "switches itself off" - does it actually turn off as in, the light on the front goes red?
I was thinking maybe it was the auto standby, but then, it gave me a message when it did it on my Sky+ box.. (press select to continue viewing or similar)

Yes television goes blank. Green light turns to red every 15 mins. It stays off until you switch it back on again but can only be done after a couple of mins, then switches itself back off every 15mins. Thought maybe it was the fan not kicking in to prevent it from over heating, but I can hear the fan spinning.
Phoned Sky today to upgrade to HD but before that arrives we have to put up with this and it's very annoying....
I have had Sky + for two months....I'm on my third Sky + unit.
I think Renault must make them

try a forced software update.
1. Switch the box off at the wall.
2. Switch it back on again holding the backup button on the box. You'll have to do this for a couple of seconds. All the lights on the front will light and there will be a message on the tv. Once the lights are on you can stop holding down backup.
You wont loose anything in the planner and you'll have the most upto date software.
Sounds funned then.
