Slight Problem.......

ok last few times i have washed the car i have noticed after drying it that when the sun catches the paint i can see fine scratches in a kind of arc shape starting at the bottom of the windows and going down and towards the back of the car? i ran my hands over the bodywork yesterday and whatever is on the bodywork turned kind of white almost and i could see run marks where the water had come down the car, i could remove the white residue with my finger by rubbing it, but the polishing cloth wouldnt lift it. is this just the wax i have been using (megs carnauba wax) and the top coat is starting to come off?

the scratches seem to be there whenever i wash it now and its really noticeable in the sun, when i say scratches i dont mean deep down to primer ones i mean surface ones almost like spider web ones but not circular more arc shape.

might have a go with a cleaner polish this weekend and see if that makes a difference. anyone know what im talking about or had it before and know the answer to my problem? :dapprove:

A decent polish will be the only way to get rid oif the swirl marks, working by hand the results will be limited by how much elbow grease you have.

Try some Meguiars Scratch X on a folded terry towel

ok, but do you think the marks are from the wax that is starting to come off (waxed bout 1 month ago) i'll give it a go with some cleaner polish to see if that takes this residue off and see if thats whats causing these marks in the sunlight, i will try and take some pics to show you what i mean when i get a chance

Some pics maybe handy, not sure what the residue. Once wax has been applied and removed it should not streak.

thats what i thought, was weird though, i looked at the paint and very lightly passed my hands over the door and it came up white straight away, was a b**ch to polish off once i had done it but i could see the cleaner paint underneath (i think lol)
