smart windows

  "Navy" N17 TWO

Anyone got the clifford "smartwindows" funtion (or equivilant) on their alarm?

What exactly does it do? Is it any good?

Might get it in before I get a sound deadening kit on the doors

Any hints welcome. thanks

All it does is closes up the windows when you activate the alarm. Very handy imo and saves time messing around shutting up the windows.

ah, will have to look into that, although I think were both in the wrong track thinking bout it, were talking bout auto closure and not smart windows, not too sure on the differences though apart from the price.

the megane dynamique has this feature as standard with the renault alarm that coms with the car.

Isnt it the same alarm as the 182 one, hence does it now work on the 182?

Smart windows will roll the windows up upon arming and also roll them back down again when disarming
Which could be a bad idea if its snowing! lol :p

I think there is a specific combination of buttons to do this.

Arming closes them and pushing other buttons will do the roll down, good for when its hot !

I got advised against going with full closure (if this is the same thing) because the relays are not good on the clio and will feck up the motors very quickly. (or something along them lines).

My relays on my windows were a right pain in the ass, or so i was told anyway.

- not going to bother getting this now - alarm people said its only a gizmo, and an expensive 1 at that!

Ive got the remote headlights - loads of fun with that! ;)

The clifford windows up module should cost no more than £55 + £20(approx) fitting. Well worth it imo .. if your brain dead like me and keep forgetting to do the windows up... :)

can you just get these features added onto an exsiting alarm.. was thinking of getting the concept 300 but it doesnt have the windows up feature.

and i must turn my ignition off at least 3 times a night when my windows are still down, right pain in the arse....

for around £100 i reckon its a much better mod than getting a fancy bonnet or something like.

i got the intelliguard 950 fitted last week... the smart windows is well worth it.. All you got to do is sit there on the phone and say "is that your best price"... theyll speak to the manager and discount the window modules...

I got mine discounted with the alarm and now dont have to nag the missus to shut the thing....
