smoothed sidestrips

my new project car will be painted at somepoint and was considering getting rid of the side strips but am 50/50 with it

anyone done it an have pics? ppls views? its a ph1 172 btw guys

It sort of has the look of a 3 door Suzuki swift, don't think it looks right, maybe would look better on a tidier model

right sidestrips are staying, really dont like that. just want blank bullets i think

I've always thought about getting smoothed bullets and blending them with the side strips, so no bugger knows what's under the bonett.
Only thing is it means the side strips can't then be removed.

The Clio Campus has smooth bullets, I keep meaning to go down the scrap yards to see if I can get any.

theres no swage line, i think thats what its called to break the apearance up. if you look at a new car that doesn't have side strips, 90% of the time they'll have a line that runs through the side of the car. Imo it needs side strips to break it up dude.

Yeah i think ur right. Im puting a 1.8 turbo in mine so yeah to hide whats inside hehe

I thoughu could just smooth the 2.0 16v off and still use the bullet?

You can mate, i'm just lazy so I thought Campus ones would by a quick fix if resprayed.

You could always put 1.2 bullets on it just to wind people up when you disapear on them. lol

the problem getting rid of them means

if you get it done cheap i.e fiberglass and filled, on your mental car, it will probably crack pretty soon, if you get it done in metal, and smooth properly, it wont look right either.

just get some 1.2 bullets.
