"Soft Top Stuff"

Hi.

I don't really venture in here, but I want to "do" my soft top.

Clean and re-seal or whatever?

What do all you geeky (hi Kev) kinds recommend? I've got no problem wasting Saturday doing this.

All purpose cleaner to clean, with the brush below. Dry and seal with either of these products...

For best results, we recommend that it is sprayed on liberally and then agitated lightly using suitable brushes or a non-linting wash mitt (for fabric tops the pairing of a PB Utility Brush with a Meguiar’s All Surface Interior Brush is ideal, while for vinyl tops a Meguiar’s Microfibre Wash Mitt is more suitable).

This will produce a slightly foamy lather, which may discolour as any soiling is progressively released. The lather should then be rinsed away with an open ended hose and the convertible top then left to dry fully before any protection is added.

Have been looking at those two products this weekend for a relations megan cab. l1 claims to last 12+months on roofs.

Renovo is very old school in itself but very specialised, it's more a dye iirc.

May be more what you need?

Email Polished Bliss. They are very honest.

Renovo do a cleaner, then a restorer too...

I will be getting that brush though Kev, just what I was looking for.

Email polished bliss? What do you think I am? I'll be waxing my alloys next....

renovo do the whole package of seperate cleaner, die conditioner for faded fabric, and the sealer. The die probably wouldn't be needed on the majority of applications and simple cleaning and sealing would generally darken a little.

IMO a general APC would probably be ok unless there is some heavy soiling, then it's just sealing it again. From what I've read the AG kit doesn't last as long as the others on the market. and for ease of use and durability the GTechniq l1 seems to stand out.

I use the 303 stuff myself, in fact I have an A4 Cab in on Sunday so will do a detailed write up on the process for the roof.

Thanks guys.

I'm going to use the AG kit this weekend, just to get it looking better. Then I think I'll give a full renovo treatment at the end of the summer.
