Somethings up with my steering

I only hear it at slow speed, seems to be coming from just the drivers side front wheel but cannot rule out passenger front side. When I turn the wheel, no matter how sharp, I hear what sounds like a ticking noise.. its not quite as harsh as a knock, more a tick, but its annoying! And only at slow speed?

Is this a common fault? :S

CV joint. Pull the drivers wheel off and check for splits in the CV boot. If theres grease and s**t everywhere, fire a new shaft in!
