sony psp any good???

i know dick all about these apart from you can play games on them....are they any good?? anyone here got one? what else can they do etc??

I think I am a good person to answer this

PSP what you can do:

Play games - not just games you get from the shops, but also old school games, like super nintendo, megadrive, etc. Plus a whole array of (mostly crap) homebrew games although there are a few gems in there

Play music - plays mp3s straight off the memory stick

Play videos - Either UMD movie disks bought from the shops or converter mpeg files, there are free tools to convert any movie to the psp available for download.

Sony PSP + Grand theft auto + largeish memory card = lots of fun

got a deal in currys at the minute £149 with F1 game thinking thats not bad,tempted to shut the phones down and go get it at lunchtime

i got a 1gb card doing nothing in my sony ericsson phone so i could use that with it couldnt i??

Daveio. I have lemmings on my PSP. Goodbye to hours and hours of fun. Worms is also out now too and thats wifi multiplayer, and Gran Turismo 4 Mobile is due in a few months.

they are great lil gadgets - stores photos etc etc plays music

the only down side is the games take a little while to load but you wouldnt be disappointed if you bought one!

i bought lemmings last sdat been playing it all week (yes im such a kid) got need for speed most wanted but started to get to hard to complete so its shoved under my bed lol

there very good, but due to the screen being a bit small it makes it hard to see oncoming cars playing burn out.

also thought about getting one too, takes an hour each way in the van to london for work which I normally sleep most of, bought a mini tv but didnt really use (crap all on at the times we travel) so a psp could be a good laugh, but I dont like paying the stupid money for games....

is there anyway of sort of cracking it so that you can load games onto it??

well, as much as "cracking" for running homebrew

there was a great "zookeeper" clone (game on the nintendo DS/flash game) that was released today by some crazy jap developer. Great game though.. But if you do install it, remove the ghastly MP3!
